Information on Accessibility

D-Trust GmbH endeavours to make its website accessible without barriers in accordance with the Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) as amended to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website www.d-trust.net of D-Trust GmbH.

State of Compliance with the Requirements

At present, the website of D-Trust GmbH is not fully compliant with the technical requirements pursuant to BITV 2.0.

The website of D-Trust GmbH and the underlying technical system were redesigned and created in 2021, and the website went live on 8th February 2022. When developing the technical concept and the web design of the new website, we endeavoured to incorporate the guidelines of BITV 2.0 according to the BGG. Despite our efforts, not all barriers have been removed.

Non-Accessible Contents

The contents listed below are not fully accessible:

  • Forms:

The error message on forms is displayed for too short a period of time on the corresponding form field. Overlays and error messages do not fulfil all requirements for closing and reading the content.

  • Colour contrasts:

In high-contrast mode, the contrast ratio of graphic controls is sometimes too low compared to the background colour.

  • Operability:

When the keyboard is being used for navigation, the focus is not consistently clearly visible or in the correct order. In slider elements, there are still several tab steps that are not visible. Active menu items in the main menu are currently not yet detectable and cannot be output by screen readers.

  • Single-column layout:

In some cases, content does not break into a single-column layout, thereby requiring horizontal scrolling.

  • Images:

The alternative texts are not expressive enough for some images.

  • Videos:

Subtitles, alternative texts and audio descriptions are not yet available for all videos on the website.

  • Syntax errors:

Currently there are still syntax errors in the HTML code.

  • Comprehensibility:

Some inscriptions are still in English, such as pagination or the “hamburger” menu.

  • Simple language:

There is still no page in simple language introducing the company.

  • Sign language video:

A video with sign language explaining the company and how to navigate the website is not yet available.

We are constantly working to improve the accessibility of our website. Given the volume, we have not yet been able to design and provide all content in a digitally accessible format. When creating new content, we have set ourselves the goal of making it as accessible as possible. We are striving to gradually make older content accessible as well. In 2024, we will have developed a sign language video and a simple language subpage explaining key content, the company and how to navigate our website.

A fully accessible design is partially not yet available in the following areas due to disproportionate burden in accordance with Article 5 of the EU Directive 2016/2102 or Sec. 12a (6) BGG:

  • Controls for contrast and text size:

Controls for contrast selection and text enlargement are lacking.

  • Infographics:

There are some infographics on our website with writing embedded in the graphic for which there is no explanatory alternative text as yet.

  • PDF documents:

Not all PDF documents available for download are accessible.

We have refrained from implementing controls for contrast selection and text enlargement, as modern browsers sometimes have this feature as standard. A complete abandonment of graphics with text would have made the content more difficult to access in light of the complex and in part legal and technical relationships. Revising all PDF documents at the time of publishing the new website would have meant a disproportionate workload due to the large number of documents and would have exceeded the available resources. When preparing new PDF documents, we seek to make them available pursuant to the PDF/UA standard (DIN ISO 14289). We are endeavouring to make older PDF documents accessible step by step. For some existing support or contract-relevant PDF documents, accessible editing will not be possible at a later date.

The content on our website deals with very specific topics on administrative digitisation and the protection of digital identities, data and infrastructures, which are primarily relevant for sovereign clients, clients from the regulated economy and a specialist audience with a professional focus in this area. D-Trust GmbH does not offer any services essential to the public or services specifically geared to or designed for the needs of people with disabilities.

If you require specific content from the above areas that is not yet available in a way that is accessible, please feel free to contact us by e-mail at info@d-trust.net. Please indicate the form in which you require the content and the e-mail address to which we may send it.

Preparation of the Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 23 February 2023 and updated on 16.02.2024. It is appraised based on the self-assessment conducted in February 2023.
