Information on barrier-free access

D-Trust GmbH is committed to offering barrier-free access to all users. For people with disabilities, the portals and websites of D-Trust GmbH offer unrestricted access to all electronic services and content.

The barrier-free design of our portals and websites is based on the Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-Free Information Technology in Accordance with the Law on Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities (BITV). The technical requirements for accessibility are laid down in BITV 2.0.

The following accessibility measures are defined:

Websites and portals for certificate products

D-Trust’s websites and portals are generally designed according to uniform specifications.

Perceptibility

  • To facilitate perception, all contents are presented clearly with sensible use of colour and contrast.

Images and video

  • D-Trust’s portal is text-based to a large extent. There are very few graphics that are alternatively described by text.

Structuring elements

  • The headings on the application pages reflect the structure of the pages.
  • Forms are grouped in coherent information blocks. Labels and associated form input boxes are logically linked.
  • Lists and headings have suitable HTML formatting.
  • Stylesheets are used to format spacing and to position elements. The logical order of the elements is maintained even if formatting via stylesheets is switched off.
  • No instructions are given based on purely visual (colour) or acoustic information.

Distinctness

  • The contrast between font colour and background is above a ratio of 4.5:1.
  • In the portal, the text size in the stylesheet is defined in absolute rather than relative terms. Enlargement is possible on standard browsers.

Usability

  • It should be possible for people with disabilities to use the website, especially also with the help of assistive technology.

Input via keyboard

  • All page functions and elements can be operated via a keyboard. The same applies to input boxes in forms, control elements and buttons. Using the keyboard, each element of the website can be individually focused, accessed and exited.

Sufficient time to read and understand

  • There is no time limit for using the elements. A session is set for one hour. This means that the customer must log in again after this one-hour period has expired.

No elements that could trigger seizures

  • D-Trust’s application portal does not contain any elements that flicker, move or flash.

Navigation aids

  • The pages of the website have a visible title. Link texts are understandable and the link sequence in the contents and navigation is logical.
  • The content is structured by easy to understand headings, labels are available for forms.
  • Elements in focus are highlighted when accessed using the keyboard. The position of the user within the page and within the website is visible.

Comprehensibility

Language

  • D-Trust’s websites and portals have been offered in German and English since Q1 / 2020.

Predictable function

  • Elements with the same function remain the same within the website, navigation is also consistent. The context does not change unexpectedly, but only after user confirmation. The same applies to the content displayed.

Input assistance

  • If the portal detects input errors, the user receives a clear prompt in text form indicating the element with the error. Correction recommendations are given.
  • All inputs can be checked, changed, deleted or confirmed before sending. This applies in particular to entries on application pages which have legal or financial consequences (orders).

Robustness

  • As a rule, the pages do not contain any HTML errors. It is not possible to entirely rule out HTML errors. If a bug is discovered, it will be fixed in the next bug-fix.

Card and paper products

  • D-Trust’s products are intangible digital information (certificates, time stamps). Certificate products are sometimes stored on cards and can be delivered in this form.
  • The visual design of the card products is only partly in the hands of D-Trust since many cards are personalized according to customer specifications. There are also some technical restrictions, e.g. due to the size of the card body.
  • Within these limitations, the cards are designed to be legible and understandable.
  • Paper documents, such as applications, verification documents or PIN letters, are created during the ordering and delivery process. The paper products are worded in technical or legal language in accordance with the content and legal requirements.

Software products

The only software product supplied by D-Trust is the Card Assistant for initializing its card product.

Perceptibility

  • A clear presentation and sensible use of colour and contrast makes it easier to perceive the content.

Images and video

  • No information is conveyed solely by differences in colour.

Distinctness

  • The texts are set off against the background; the background does not have any confusing patterns.

Usability

  • It should be possible for people with disabilities to use the website, especially also with the help of assistive technology.

Sufficient time to read and understand

  • For security reasons, there is a timeout for PIN input. This timeout cannot be changed.

No elements that could trigger seizures

  • The software contains no flashing, moving or flashing elements.

Comprehensibility

There is no documentation that is available both in electronic form and as a text file.

  • Predictable function
