Online Seminar: Prevention Instead of Treatment – NIS-2 and Possible Solutions: Trust Services and Certificates

The EU Commission has issued a new (revised) directive, EU 2022/2555, better known as the NIS-2 Directive, to ensure standardised implementation across Europe for the security of network and information systems. The scope of application of the NIS-2 Directive is considerable and extends the obligations of organisations and their management bodies. Members of management bodies are personally liable for violations of the NIS-2 Directive by their organisation. In addition, the relevant government agencies have been given extensive supervisory and enforcement powers. Implementing risk management for cybersecurity, reporting incidents, and ensuring protection against cyber threats presents numerous challenges, but also offers significant opportunities. The webinar will give you an overview of the key NIS-2 topics that are relevant for hospitals.

By using qualified trust services in accordance with Article 24 of the NIS-2 Directive, companies can strengthen their cyber security and fulfil legal requirements. In its presentation, D-Trust, the trust service provider of the Bundesdruckerei Group, will introduce trust services that guarantee the security of digital communication in hospitals at the highest security level. Building on this, DKTIG (Deutsche Krankenhaus TrustCenter und Informationsverarbeitung GmbH) shows industry-specific areas of application for the use of TLS certificates to secure communication and websites, electronic signatures to ensure authenticity and integrity in the exchange of information and document seals to protect the origin and authenticity of sensitive data.
