PQC test certificate for your public key infrastructure
Test post-quantum cryptography (PQC) in your environment with test certificates from D-Trust.
The transition to quantum-resistant cryptography, also known as post-quantum cryptography, presents new technical challenges for existing public key infrastructures (PKIs). New signature algorithms, certificate profiles and cryptographic key types need to be integrated into existing PKI processes, applications and trust stores, and tested for compatibility and interoperability.
Check your PKI's readiness for a PQC early
Use D-Trust’s test certificate to test PQC scenarios at an early stage and prepare your PKI for the requirements of post-quantum-secure cryptography. For example, you can check whether your browsers support and correctly process PQC certificates.
Test a post-quantum-secure connection
Our PQC test certificate allows you to test how a browser connection can be secured using a post-quantum-secure method. For this purpose, we provide a root certificate that uses the ML-DSA-65 digital signature algorithm.
How the PQC test works
- Download the root certificate from the download section.
- Install the certificate as a trusted root certificate in your browser.
- Once the root certificate has been installed, the latest browser versions use a PQC method to secure the connection. The following browsers are supported:
- Google Chrome: v150+
- Microsoft Edge: v150+
- This allows you to see directly how post-quantum-secure cryptography can be implemented and tested in a browser environment.

This test certificate is intended solely for testing and evaluation purposes. Please uninstall it once you have completed your test. To locate the certificate, follow the installation instructions again.
Instructions for installing the browser certificate
To carry out the PQC test, you need to install the root certificate provided in your browser. The following instructions explain how to install the certificate in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge:
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner of your browser.
- Go to “Settings”.
- Select the following option:
In Chrome: “Privacy and security”
In Edge: “Privacy, search, and services” - Then click “Security”.
- Select “Manage certificates”.
- Under “Local certificates”, go to “Custom’ and select “Installed by you”.
- In the first row, under “Trusted certificates”, click “Import”.
- Select the D-Trust root test certificate you previously saved on your device and click “Open”.
- The test root certificate will then appear under the trusted certificates. Installation is now complete.
